Fast forward to today, and we’re celebrating a decade of doing just that. From our very first placement to partnering exclusively with some of the UK’s leading businesses and organisations, we’ve learned a lot along the way. So, in honour of our 10th anniversary, here are 10 lessons we’ve learned in 10 years of business.
1. People First, Always
At the heart of every successful placement is an individual, not just a CV. We’ve learned to look beyond the paper and focus on personality, purpose, and potential. We follow the same philosophy on every hire – the role, company and culture has to be a great fit for the candidate; and the candidate’s skills, experiences, motivations and personal attributes have to be great fit for the company. Whilst we will embrace AI as a tool, our human first approach is something that our clients and candidates love and value.
2. Relationships Over Transactions
We don’t chase quick wins. Building long-term win-win relationships with our clients, candidates and partners, has led to some of our proudest success stories, prestigious clients, exclusive hiring projects and repeat business over the years.
3. Trust is Everything
In talent, trust is your currency. Whether it’s a client trusting us with a crucial hire, or a candidate trusting us with their career move, we never take it lightly.
4. Be Specialist, Be Bold
Focusing on our niche and becoming true experts in Marketing hires, HR hires and Executive Search has set us apart from larger, more generalist agencies.
By combining advanced level headhunting skills, with the mindset and partnership approach of in-house talent acquisition team, our clients’ come to us because of our unique business model and the expertise we have developed from over 20 years’ headhunting experience.
We understand their world, speak their language and prioritise their success.
5. Adapt or Fall Behind
The recruitment industry never stands still. From remote work to evolving expectations, and new technology; we’ve learned to embrace change, be curious and stay ahead of the curve.
6. Tech is a Tool, Not the Answer
We love tech and AI, but recruitment is still a people business – the best placements come from real conversations and intuition.
7. Culture Fit is Better Than a Perfect Skill Set
You can train skills, but not values, personal attributes and motivations. The right cultural fit has made all the difference in creating sustainable, successful hires. We haven’t had to rebate a client for over 5 years; and that’s down to the extra care and attention we give to our clients and candidates to ensure every placement is right.
8. Charity and Community Matter
Giving back has always been part of our DNA. Whether it’s supporting our charity partner – Julia’s House, or mentoring emerging talent on a pro-bono basis, impact matters to us and our clients.
9. Celebrate the Wins (Even the Small Ones)
When you’re running a business, it’s easy to focus on the next goal. But celebrating the wins – every hire, every milestone keeps you grounded and grateful.
10. Success is Sweeter When Shared
From incredible clients to trusted partners and a brilliant team, our journey has been a shared one. We’ve only got here because of the people who’ve believed in us along the way.
